Sartoria Litrico participates to ApritiModa

On the 22nd and 23rd of October, we participated in the ApritiModa event: Sartoria Litrico was among the 100 ateliers that opened their doors to external guests for guided and free insights into the history of Italian excellence. ApritiModa aims to make accessible the often hidden places where Made in Italy fashion is made, the workshops where the most artisan and true part of the ateliers lives.

This is the sixth edition of the event; ApritiModa gives an opportunity for the curiosity of the public on how the models and accessories of the places that make Italian excellence in the creation of the sector are born, from the most famous brands to the smallest production companies, all united by the knowing how to do Italian works.

A trip to Italy to discover, know and fall in love with: the great names that are our flag in the world and the artisan realities that exist and resist only here. We have been able to welcome in our Atelier in Parioli all kinds of people interested in traveling through the folds of history that distinguish the realities of Sartoria Litrico such as ours: artisan companies that are also a pillar for the Italian economy, where fashion represents the second industrial sector in the country, with a turnover of 82 billion euros in 2021 and 600 thousand people employed directly.

ApritiModa was born from the idea of the journalist Cinzia Sasso to tell the story (and secrets!) of many companies that work in clothing and accessories. This is one of the reasons why it broadens its horizons, bringing visitors to museums dedicated to fashion and craftsmanship in Italy.

“Every year – explained Cinzia Sasso – we add new realities, new incredible stories that enrich the mosaic of visits. Thus, for example, it becomes possible to visit the umbrella factory loved by English royalty. But also the Florentine laboratory where extraordinary perfumes are born, the Piedmontese hat factories famous in the world, and the ancient and prestigious weaving mills in Venice, Florence, and Como. And many others”

Including, in fact, the Sartoria Litrico. Opening the doors of the fashion houses means offering a unique opportunity to touch the beauty and uniqueness of these places firsthand. It means unveiling an extraordinary wealth of skills, quality, and knowledge. Composing, piece by piece, the mosaic of the most beautiful country in the world. ApritiModa exists thanks to the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Economic Development, the FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano, the Altagamma Foundation, and the Municipality of Milan. Institutional partners of the event are the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and the Cologni Foundation for Art Professions.

ApritiModa and Sartoria Litrico: how and when?

Our collaboration with ApritiModa began on October 12, in Brussels, at the headquarters of the European Parliament and within the Italian Embassy. Here, visiting international guests took part in an exhibition of products that symbolize our history and that of other ateliers. A journey into Made in Italy to show the love and care of our craftsmanship, not only by words but with our creations and products, displayed in an art exhibition. On the weekend of 22 and 23 October, we opened our doors for a free visit, to let people discover our history. RAI also followed us, in the two reports we are pleased to share with you on this page.
